The NI Science Festival returns on 13-23 February 2020 with over 180 events focusing on the wonders of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

From world-leading research at our universities to championing local innovators, the festival has a range of events designed to connect you with local research and inventions that have a global impact.

During the day, the festival offers workshops, talks and interactive activities for young people, parents and schools. In the evening, they will present an eclectic mix of scientific debate, talks, theatres, comedy, music and film for adults.

Under the tech and digital theme, Innovate UK are supporting a series of events as part of the UK Industrial Strategy’s Grand Challenges including:

Belfast City Council, which is supporting the festival, is also hosting an augmented reality installation, Tropical Opus, at the Tropical Ravine in Botanic Gardens from 13 – 23 February. Inspired by music and nature, participants can enjoy the latest AR technology on their smartphones.
